Pawora™ was not primarily born in a sterile laboratory, but from decades of clinical experience and unconditional love for animals. I am Dr. Omár Ratkóczi - a veterinarian for 25 years, 20 of which I spent in active practice, and I currently work in pharmaceutical research. My career is mostly accompanied not by impressive awards, but by the recognition of pet owners and the gratitude of successfully treated patients.
The Legacy of the "12 Dentists"
For me, veterinary work is not just a profession, but a calling that permeates my entire life. I grew up in Budapest, where I shared my home with ornamental birds, fish, and cats, but as an adult, I chose the tranquility of the countryside. Throughout my practice, my dogs – Vizsladors, German Shorthaired Pointers, and adopted mixed breeds – accompanied me everywhere. I currently live on a farm where, in addition to horses, cattle, goats, and poultry, my daily life includes two sheep and my dearest companion, Sámli, the donkey. This deep, personal connection to animals means that when developing Pawora™, I thought not only as a veterinarian but also as a concerned pet owner. During my career, I frequently encountered the helplessness of owners when only risky, anesthetic-based tartar removal or drastic tooth extraction could help an older dog. This experience, along with my wife's – a dentoalveolar oral surgeon – scientific research on the oral microbiome, led to the creation of Pawora™.
Not just in passing...
Pawora™ is not an off-the-shelf recipe, but a 100% Hungarian-developed, scientific answer to a decades-old problem. For me, the development journey was not just about creating a product, but about pushing the boundaries of clinical effectiveness. From concept to finished product, it was a rough, multi-year road. During the development, we faced numerous "dead ends" and technical difficulties before finding the answers to the most pressing questions:
-
The right beneficial bacteria
We had to select the lactobacillus strains that are capable of fighting the pathogens that cause tartar.
-
The critical germ count
It was necessary to determine the exact quantity that would have a real, measurable effect.
-
The method of presentation
This was the biggest challenge – how to keep the bacteria in the oral cavity long enough? That's when the realization came, which today underpins Pawora™'s innovation: Sticky Tech technology – i.e., the oil-based formula.
Mucoadhesive effect: The strength of adhesion
-
1
Optimized contact time
Its oily texture is resistant to saliva, so it doesn't wash out of the oral cavity immediately.
-
2
Continuous absorption
The active ingredients remain in contact with the target area for hours, ensuring the genuine absorption of vitamins and probiotics.
-
3
In-depth protection
The oil reaches even the narrowest interdental spaces, where plaque would most quickly turn into tartar.
